Thanks. Safari QA really is rubbish. I've had at least one show stopping issue with every installation of v4 or v5 across my 5 Windows PCs.

I am using windows 7. I could not locate the following:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Safari
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

Instead I removed:
C:\ProgramData\Apple\Installer Cache\Apple Application Support
and
C:\Program Files\Safari

That did it for me.

It would seem there's lots of ways this can go wrong!

@Guss Thanks for your solution, hopefully that'll help some other people too :-D

Answ:
For me the instruction given before was not solving the problem.

I solved the problem by uninstalling other apple-windows software from earlier versions, with the normal Windows programs support program from the configuration window.

•	Uninstall with Windows program support:
o	Safari
o	Apple Application Support
o	Apple Software Update
o	Bonjour

Then I reinstalled Safari from a fresh download, and that solved the problem for me, without any deletion of folders!

what if we don't have the file
Delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

and it still won't open it.
