I’ve been looking recently for what iPad pricing in the UK will be, but Apple are keeping schtum. So, let’s have a little guess:
Current US Prices:
Wi-fi
16GB $499
32GB $599
64GB $699
Wi-fi + 3G
16GB $629
32GB $729
64GB $829
The current USD to GBP exchange rate is 0.656943897, so by adding this and 17.5% VAT we get:
Wi-fi
16GB £385
32GB £462
64GB £539
Wi-fi + 3G
16GB £485
32GB £562
64GB £640
Now, we all know that nobody from America does direct translations of price, because we can be milked more can’t we? So, let’s round them up to nicer sales figures:
Wi-fi
16GB £399
32GB £479
64GB £549
Wi-fi + 3G
16GB £499
32GB £579
64GB £649
Expect these to be the lowest likely prices you’ll pay.
I think your pricing is a bit low. The best way to compare is to look at products in the US Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/) compared to the UK Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/uk).
For instance, the $599 Mac Mini costs £510 in the UK. I would expect the $599 32GB WiFi iPad to follow suit and be £510 in the UK. From that, I’ll leave you to work out the other prices
It really wouldn’t surprise me if Apple chooses to extort us, it’s what they do best.
Well, it turns out i wasn’t too far off! Only £50 out for my iPad. Still, that’s £50 for being English
Do you think the iPad could be jailbroken soon?
It already has been!
